About the Instructor
Debra moved to California from Connecticut in 1996, when her husband's company was sold to a tech company in LA. She grew up in Michigan and attended Western Connecticut State University. She and her husband Mark have two wonderful daughters, Petra and Alexandra who are finishing studies in Fashion Marketing and Engineering, respectively. The family enjoyed LA and the subsequent move to Del Mar in 2004. Riding horses became a great passion as did rehabilitating from a hip injury due to a fall. While searching for a healing modality, the practice of Pilates emerged as the answer. Fascinated with the intricacies of movement therapy, and excited about her own rejuvenation, she earned her Pilates Teaching Certification through Kore Pilates in La Jolla in 2006, after a 7 month intensive apprenticeship program under the direction of Master Teacher Stephanie Aubuchon-Fernandez.
Debra very much enjoys extending the healing benefits of the Pilates Practice to all special populations. She also enjoys snow skiing, Argentine Tango, para-sailing, diving and travel.
